Privacy notice
Draft. This must be reviewed by a qualified Botswana legal practitioner before launch, including against the Data Protection Act, 2024.
What we collect
Account details (name, email, phone), farm details, animal records and health events you or your authorised users enter, and payment status for your orders. We do not store card numbers.
Sign in with Google
If you choose “Continue with Google”, Google tells us your name, email address and a Google account number so we can sign you in. We never receive your Google password, and we don’t use Google to see anything else in your account.
Why
To provide the service, send the reminders you have switched on, provide support and keep records secure.
Who can see your records
You, and people you invite (staff or vets) for the farms you choose. A passport you share shows the animal’s health record, district and age to anyone with its code. It never shows your name, phone, farm name or private notes. VaxiTrace support staff see account and plan information; they open your livestock records only with your permission for a support request. [REVIEW]
Retention
Records are kept while your account exists. When a plan lapses, records are kept read-only. You can export your data or request deletion at any time from Settings. [REVIEW: retention period after account closure]
Your rights
Access, correction, export and deletion. Contact support. [REVIEW: data subject rights and cross-border hosting wording]
