About VaxiTrace

Livestock health records, built in Botswana for Southern Africa.

VaxiTrace helps livestock owners keep health records and reach verified animal-health providers. It was built in Botswana, starts with Southern Africa, and is open to farmers in other countries too.

Why VaxiTrace exists

In much of the world, the health history of a herd still lives in a notebook in the shed, in a pile of phone messages, or in someone’s memory. That makes it easy to miss a booster, hard to answer a buyer’s questions, and harder still to keep track when you live away from your animals.

VaxiTrace puts those records in one place that you can reach from any phone, share with the people you trust, and keep for as long as you own the animal. Later, VetConnect will add a way to ask verified vets for help, once we have verified vets to offer.

What we believe

Keep it simple

A small cattle owner should be able to record a vaccination in under a minute, without training.

Farmers own their records

Your data stays private unless you share it, you can download it any time, and a lapsed plan never deletes it.

Be honest about what it is

VaxiTrace keeps records. It is not an official certificate, and it doesn’t give veterinary advice.

Who is behind it

VaxiTrace is a venture of Light Bulb Ideas Studio, based in Gaborone, Botswana. We start with Southern Africa, and livestock records are open to owners in other countries too. VetConnect, our vet request service, goes live country by country as we verify vets there, and we only show coverage where verified vets actually exist.
